Burn Ban Lifted for Comanche County

Burn-Ban-Lifted     On this 8th day of March, 2016, in accordance with Section 352.081 (e), of the Local Government Code, the Comanche County Judge hereby determines that due to the recent rain in Comanche County, the circumstances which necessitated the Comanche County Commissioner’s Court to enter an Order dated FEBRUARY 8, 2016, prohibiting or restricting outdoor burning, no longer exists, and therefore the previous Burn Ban Order of the Commissioner’s Court is no longer in effect.

Burn Ban for Comanche County Extended

On Monday, February 8th 2016, the Comanche County Commissioners’ Court met and discussed the current burn ban and hazardous weather conditions. As of February 9th, 2016, County Judge James R. Arthur has extended the burn ban for 90 days. Welding is allowed on the condition that a spotter is present at all times, and has on hand a method for fire suppression. Individual outdoor cooking is permitted in an enclosed barbecue pit. Violation of this order is a Class C Misdemeanor, punishable by a fine not to exceed $500.00.
