De Leon First Baptist Church Family Life Center
Located behind FBC Church which is at 125 S. Houston ST in De Leon.
Law enforcement officers and agencies are frequently requested by schools, businesses, and community members for direction and presentations on what they should do if confronted with an active shooter event. The Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) course, designed and built on the Avoid, Deny, Defend (ADD) strategy developed by the ALERRT™ Center at Texas State University, provides strategies, guidance and a proven plan for surviving an active shooter event. This course is presented across the nation by law enforcement agencies to better prepare their communities for tragic events like mass shootings. The class is FREE and there is no need to register in advance. The course is open to everyone. More information on the strategies presented in the course can be found at www.avoiddenydefend.org or you can email Chief James “Ed” Dyson at edyson@cityofdeleon.org.
